our history…
God have us the opportunity to serve in two churches in the Midwest as Assistant Pastor and then in two churches as Pastor, the last of which was the Calvary Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant, IA, which then commissioned us for missionary service. We joined Baptist Mid-Missions in 1982, burdened for reaching the lost of Mexico by establishing local churches in its strategic center, Mexico City. During our first term we worked to finish a church-planting project in the village of Tihuatlán, Veracruz. Arriving in the Capitol, we served for a year in BMM’s first church plant while their missionary pastor was on furlough, and then began in 1990 to lay the groundwork for a new church in the opposite corner of the City. Beginning with no contacts or core group, we baptized our first group of ten adults in 1991, purchased property in 1994, and organized the work with 80 adult members in 2001. The process was completed with the installation of an indigenous Pastor of the Peniel Baptist Church in June of 2003, with attendance averaging 168. As this work graduated, our plans were to return, after our furlough, to begin another church plant in Mexico City. It was at that time that the leaders of Baptist Mid-Missions contacted us to ask if we would consider a new ministry as Church Planting and Development Coordinator for North America.
